The victory puts Commercecon in a strong position to end the regular season in first place as they not only passed DevelopRes to make it the top of the standings by getting to 52 points, one more than their rivals, but also have one game in hand, having the ability to extend their advantage to as many as four points.

The match had the same score of the encounter between the teams in the first round of the regular season, which was also won by Commercecon, the only team to top DevelopRes in the domestic season so far. It happened two weeks after their encounter in the Polish Cup final, which was won by the Rzeszów side.

On Sunday, opposite Weronika Gierszewska was a force for Commercecon, leading the team with 21 points (17 kills, four blocks) and taking home the match’s MVP award. The team also had outside hitters Natalia Mędrzyk (15) and Lana Ščuka (10) and middle blockers Anna Obiała (14) and Klaudia Alagierska (13) all getting to double digits in scoring.

DevelopRes had in team captain and outside hitter Monika Fedusio their leading scorer with 17 points (16 kills, one ace), followed by Brazilian opposite Bruna Honorio, who tallied 16 (13 kills, two blocks, one ace). Dutch outside hitter Marrit Jasper and middle blocker Weronika Centka-Tietianiec produced ten points each.

The ninth leg of the second round of the regular season also confirmed one more team in the playoffs - MOYA Radomka Radom, which won their match and got to 27 points and are now set to join Commercecon, DevelopRes, PGE Grot Budowlani Łódź (47) and BKS BOSTIK ZGO Bielsko-Biała (42) in the postseason.
