MA Acqua San Bernardo Cuneo will play in the SuperLega Credem Banca for the first time, coinciding with the club’s 10-year anniversary since its foundation in 2015. On Thursday, the team closed the Serie A2 playoff final series and earned the right to compete among Italy’s volleyball elite in the 2025-2026 season, replacing relegated Gioiella Prisma Taranto.

MA Acqua San Bernardo Cuneo swept the best-of-three final series against Gruppo Consoli Sferc Brescia, producing a 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-23) shutout on the road on Sunday and a 3-1 (25-23, 25-18, 22-25, 25-18) victory in front of five thousand fans at home on Thursday. Cuneo’s 28-year-old opposite Giulio Pinali led the team’s scorers in both matches, putting away 18 and 15 points, respectively.
Cuneo finished fourth in the Serie A2 regular season standings on 49 points and a 16-10 win-loss record. In the quarterfinals, they overcame Evolution Green Aversa, sweeping both matches of the series, and in the semifinals, they swept the deciding third match against Tinet Prata di Pordenone after the two teams traded five-set home victories in the first two games.
This way, the city of Cuneo will have a representative in the SuperLega for the first time since Bre Banca Lanutti Cuneo played in Italy’s top division back in season 2013-2014.
