Reigning Lega Volley Femminile Serie A1 Tigotà champions Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano are on pace to defend their Italian title for a sixth straight time in 2024-2025 and on Saturday, the Panthers could reach a significant mark in their campaign, completing the first half of the regular season undefeated.

With 12 victories in as many matches and 36 points in the standings, the Panthers could end the first half of their campaign with victories over each of their 13 opponents on Saturday, when they face Il Bisonte Firenze at 19:00 local time (18:00 GMT), in the 12th leg of the regular season. Because they will appear in the 2024 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship, Conegliano had their 13th-leg match anticipated.

Conegliano are clear at the top of the standings and have a massive nine-point lead over Numia Vero Volley Milano and Savino Del Bene Scandicci, who are second and third with 27 points. Most impressively, the Panthers collected all three points in each of their 12 matches, dropping just two of the 38 sets they played.

The defending champions got to their current position with their tenth sweep of the season, obtained on the road on Wednesday against Honda Olivero Cuneo, who they topped 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-18) in the 11th leg of the regular season.

With many starters rested, including outside hitter Gabriela ‘Gabi’ Guimarães, setter Joana Wołosz and middle blocker Marina Lubian, Conegliano had in Chinese outside hitter Zhu Ting their leading scorer against Cuneo, with 18 points (16 kills, two blocks). Swedish opposite Isabelle Haak tallied 12

“We’re pleased with our victory,” Polish outside hitter Martyna Łukasic reacted. “Except for the start of the second set, we were able to maintain the control of the match. We’re in great form, but can still work on some aspects of our game so that these breaks don’t happen again.”

Second-placed Milano also triumphed on Wednesday, but had to dig deep to overcome Megabox Ondulati Savio Vallefoglia 3-2 (30-28, 19-25, 24-26, 25-20, 15-9). The point dropped allowed Scandicci, who got all three with a 3-1 (21-25, 25-23, 25-23, 27-25) road win over Wash4Green Pinerolo, to tie their points total.

Fourth-placed Igor Gorgonzola Novara also got a positive result, beating Bergamo 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-19) at home. The Italian league midweek action also had Cda Volley Talmassons Fvg downing Firenze 3-0 (25-19, 28-26, 26-24), Eurotek Uyba Busto Arsizio overcoming Bartoccini-MC Restauri Perugia 3-1 (30-28, 25-22, 23-25, 25-18) and Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri ’76 beating SMI Roma Volley 3-1 (25-22, 25-21, 23-25, 25-16).
