Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano’s incredible campaign in the 2024-2025 Lega Volley Femminile Serie A1 Tigotà can get into the record books as the reigning world champions are on pace to become the team with the most points earned in the regular season in Italian League history.

After collecting 74 points with 25 victories, dropping just one point along the way, the Panthers will complete their regular season campaign on Saturday, at 20:30 local time (19:30 GMT), against Bartoccini-MC Restauri Perugia, and another triumph will make them surpass the 75 regular-season points they collected in 2023-2024, setting a new record in the tournament.

Conegliano have been unstoppable at both the domestic and the international levels as the Panthers got to this point of the season with 40 victories, which helped them lift trophies at the 2024 FIVB Women’s’ Club World Championship, the Italian Supercup and the Coppa Italia, besides advancing to the playoffs of the CEV Champions League.

The Panthers played just two tie-breakers in the period, one against Igor Gorgonzola Novara in the Italian League, and topped their opponents in straight sets in 32 out of the 40 matches they played in the season.

Their record against Perugia, who enter the last leg of the regular season in Italy out of the playoffs but also free from the threaten of relegation, is also vastly positive, displaying seven victories and just one loss, registered back in 2019.

Roma and Firenze battle to avoid relegation

Conegliano’s record chase is just one of the exciting storylines connected with the conclusion of the Italian League regular season, which will have all seven matches happening simultaneously on Saturday at 20:30 (19:30 GMT).

Another big one is the battle between SMI Roma Volley and Il Bisonte Firenze to avoid relegation – Cda Volley Talmassons Fvg are already confirmed to go down. After their midweek victory over Eurotek Uyba Busto Arsizio, the team from the Italian capital got to 20 points, left the relegation zone and took full control of their situation.

Roma will confirm their presence in the Italian elite in 2025-2026 if they beat Wash4Green Pinerolo 3-0 or 3-1. They can continue in the first division with other results, even a 3-0 loss, depending on the result of Firenze’s road match against Bergamo. With 19 points, Firenze need to at least get to 20 on Saturday to have a chance of passing Roma as they have better set ratio.

Final seedings for the playoffs still open

The last leg of the regular season will also determine the seedings for the eight teams that will compete in playoffs. Four positions are already confirmed, with Conegliano (74 points) taking first place, Novara (53) ranking fourth, Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri ’76 (43) clinching fifth and Busto (39) guaranteed in sixth place.

The battle for second place involves Savino Del Bene Scandicci, who have 58 points and will play Novara at home, and Numia Vero Volley Milano, who have 57 and will be on the road against Chieri.
