The Omaha Supernovas got to the top of the 2025 Pro Volleyball Federation standings on Sunday, with a victory against the San Diego Mojo, and will now try to continue in first place against the same opponents.

The teams from are set to meet again on Thursday, at 19:05 local time (3:05 GMT, Friday), at the Arena Viejas, in California, just four days after their most recent encounter, as part of the seventh week of the regular season of the American League.

Thursday’s encounter will be the third between the teams this season and the defending champions have been dominant, winning 3-0 in the second week of the season, and 3-1 last Sunday – both matches were held in Nebraska.

Currently in first place in the Pro Volleyball Federation with seven wins and three losses, the Supernovas are going through their best moment in the season as they secured three straight victories for the first time in their campaign – before beating the Mojo, they overcame the Indy Ignite and the Atlanta Vibe.

“Back-to-back games is always a different challenge,” head coach Laura Kuhn said after Sunday’s victory. “There’s also the travel. But it’s all coming down to our execution. They are going to be good, they will be a different team. Everybody plays their best against us. We have to set the tone by putting pressure on them with our serving.”

The Mojo, indeed, need to be a different team if they want to move up in the standings. Coming from five consecutive losses, the team from San Diego is currently in seventh place, with three victories and seven defeats.

The two teams that could overtake the Supernovas for first place are the Orlando Valkyries (7-4) and the Vegas Thrill (7-3), who will play each other on Thursday, at 19:00 local time (00:00 GMT, Friday).

The other matches of the day, both also starting at 19:00 local time (00:00 GMT, Friday), will have the Grand Rapids Rise (4-6) facing the Columbus Fury (2-8) and the Ignite (5-5) meeting the Vibe (6-5).

A single match will be held on Sunday, with the Fury hosting the Vibe in Columbus at 14:00 local time (19:00 GMT).

All-Star Game on Saturday

The week’s schedule of the Pro Volleyball Federation will also feature the League’s All-Star Game, which will be held in Indiana, on Saturday, at 13:30 local time (17:30 GMT). The match will have some of the tournament’s main stars, such as Thai setter Pornpun Guedpard (Valkyries), libero Morgan Hentz (Vibe), setter Alisha Childress (Thrill) and outside hitter Brooke Nuneviller (Supernovas).
