Pro Volleyball Federation rookies Indy Ignite are the only team undefeated in the American League following the conclusion of the second week of matches in the 2025 season, which had eight encounters between Thursday and Sunday.

The new franchise won both their duels to continue undefeated after three matches and appear at the top of the standings of the tournament, which is having its second-ever season in 2025.

After starting their inaugural campaign with a historic home win over the Orlando Valkyries last week, the Ignite continued to deliver. On Thursday, the team played in Indiana again and overcame the Grand Rapids Rise 3-0 (25-18, 28-26, 25-16). Outside hitters Leketor Member-Meneh and Nina Čajić led the team with 19 points each.

“They were putting up a good fight, which they absolutely should, but we really trusted each other,” Member-Meneh said. “We are in these pressure moments all the time in practice, so we didn’t have to overdo anything; we just had to stick to what we knew and it ended up working out.”

Two days later, the team made the trip to Ohio to face the Columbus Fury and secured a dramatic 3-2 (25-18, 32-30, 19-25, 22-25, 15-11) victory to continue at the top of the table. The two outside hitters combined for 50 points this time, with Member-Meneh adding 30 and the Serbian another 20.

Thrill win two tie-breakers

Besides the Ignite, the Vegas Thrill were the only other team to win both matches in the second week of the Pro Volleyball Federation season, but they needed to win not one, but two five-setters to do so. With the results, the team from Nevada now appears in second place in the standings with three wins and one loss.

The team played twice at home and benefited from it to top the Omaha Supernovas 3-2 (23-25, 17-25, 26-24, 25-17, 25-11) on Friday, taking the defending champions down for the first time in the season, and the Valkyries also 3-2 (22-25, 25-23, 14-25, 25-21, 15-12) on Sunday.

The Valkyries, the Atlanta Vibe, the Supernovas and the San Diego Mojo have a 2-2 win record so far. The Rise come in seventh place with one win and three losses, ranking above the Fury sit at the bottom of the standings with three losses.

The third week of the Pro Volleyball Federation season will have five matches taking place from Thursday to Sunday.
