Despite sitting at the bottom of the Pro Volleyball Federation standings, the Fury are actually in a good moment in the 2025 season. Before losing to the San Diego Mojo on the road last Saturday, the team from Columbus had won three straight matches, going as high as sixth in the standings.

The Fury has played the Supernovas twice already this season and lost 3-0 on both occasions, in the third and fourth weeks of the season. They also lost to the Valkyries when the teams met in the sixth week of the season, but managed to take one set from the league leaders in the match that preceded their three-match winning streak.

One of the key players in the team’s recent push, opposite Izabella Rapacz will be pivotal as the Fury face the top two teams in the league.

Experienced Puerto Rican setter Wilmarie Rivera, who leads the team in assists (343) and ranks fourth in the league in aces with 13, is another key player for the Ohio team as they look to upset the favorites and move up in the standings.

Two more matches on Wednesday

The match between the Fury and the Supernovas will be one of three held on Wednesday – the Grand Rapids Rise will host the Mojo also at 19:00 local time (00:00 GMT, Thursday), while the Vegas Thrill will play at home against the Indy Ignite at 19:00 local time (03:00 GMT, Thursday).

The team from Las Vegas will play again on Friday, this time on the road, as they will face the Atlanta Vibe in Georgia at 19:00 local time (00:00 GMT, Saturday).

On Sunday, besides the encounter between the Valkyries and the Fury, the match schedule also includes a duel involving the Vibe and the Ignite at 15:00 local time (19:00 GMT) and a battle between the Mojo and the Rise at 16:05 local time (23:05 GMT).
