The volleyball and beach volleyball medal matches got underway today, with the first of our Paris 2024 champions of the sand crowned under the night sky, as a packed stadium and honoured guests watched on.

The volleyball bronze medal match saw Team USA power onto the podium as guests came to see the spectacle, including World Aquatics President Husain Al-Musallam who was welcomed to the venue by FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F°.

A party for Brazil under the night sky, as Brazil’s Ana Patricia Ramos & Eduarda Santos Lisboa (Duda) took the country’s first women’s beach volleyball gold since Atlanta 1996. They were cheered on by passionate Brazilian fans, as well as legendary Brazilian footballer Raí Souza Vieira de Oliveira, who was welcomed to the venue by CSV President Marco Tullio Teixeira.

Also there to support the Brazilian champions were Olympic bronze medallist in the Men’s Shortboard – Surfing Gabriel Medina and Olympian, Bruno Rezende, who has just competed for Brazil in the volleyball competition in Paris.

European Olympic Committees President, Hellenic Olympic Committee President and IOC Member Spyros Capralos also joined the evening festivities to watch the final at the hottest venue of the Games.

Also in town was IOC Member and Canadian Olympic Committee President Tricia Smith who passionately supported Melissa Humana-Paredes & Brandie Wilkerson who gave everything in their fight for gold but narrowly missed out.

The businessman and founder of WPP plc Martin Sorrell also enjoyed an evening of beach volleyball action on the sand.
